James Edwin Gunn (1923–2020) was an American science fiction writer, critic, teacher, professor at the University of Kansas, and founder of the Sturgeon and Campbell Memorial Prizes. Twice winner of the Hugo Award, Grandmaster of the Nebula, author of almost two dozen novels and more than a hundred short stories and novellas. The collection includes novellas and short stories from the collections “The Time of Witchcraft” and “Future Imperfect”, which present the most popular fantasy themes of the 1960s —1970s: anxiety for the future of the world, irony about the “war of the sexes,” magic, psychoanalysis, artificial intelligence and much more...
