James Edwin Gunn (born 1923) is an American science fiction writer, critic, teacher, professor at the University of Kansas, and founder of the Sturgeon and Campbell Memorial Prizes. Considered a pioneer of literary studies in the field of science fiction. Twice winner of the Hugo Award, Grandmaster of the Nebula. The author of almost two dozen novels and more than a hundred stories and stories. The collection includes the novel “Immortals”, the cycles of stories and stories “The Time of Witchcraft” and “The Imperfect Future”. The most famous story in the collection, “Wherever You Are”, from the moment of publication (1967, the legendary “Anthology of Fantasy” from the “Young Guard”) enjoyed great readership and was even transferred to the screen: the teleplay “Psychodynamics of Witchcraft” (1990), the film “If the Bride is a Witch” (2002). The latter starred Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, Sergei Bezrukov, Spartak Mishulin, Leonid Kuravlev.
