To the 180th anniversary of the tragic death of the greatest Russian poet A.S. Pushkin publishing house “Veche” coincides with the release of the “Pushkin Library” series, which will include bright books about the life path and creative feat of the poet, primarily novels and biographical narratives. Some of them were written before the revolution, others were created by authors in exile, and others were created quite recently. The series opens with a two-volume work by the famous Russian emigrant writer Ivan Fedorovich Nazhivin (1874–1940). The novel tells about the mature years of Pushkin’s life - from Mikhailovsky’s exile to his tragic death in a duel. For many readers, the poet on the pages of the book will appear in an unusual perspective: he will not be an idealized, inspired singer, but a man with all his contradictions and complex relationships with the king, officials, society, friends and women. An epic canvas with many people and places, circles and classes, strings of events, intrigues, intrigues, conspiracies, love affairs will unfold before the reader. The author creates a whole gallery of portraits - Paul I, Alexander I, Nicholas I, Pushkin, the Decembrists, Arakcheev, Speransky.
