The Khazars are one of the most mysterious peoples of the early Middle Ages. There is even debate among scientists about who should be called by this word. The Khazars did not leave shards that would allow them to be identified, and the burials, which can confidently be considered Khazar, date back only to the early period of the existence of their state. There is an opinion that in the multinational Khazar Kaganate during the last century and a half of its short history there were almost no ethnic Khazars. The few who did live there may have professed Judaism, although they were probably not Jews, but Turks... In this book, written on the basis of medieval sources, modern historical works and his own archaeological experience, the writer Oleg Ivik and archaeologist Vladimir Klyuchnikov collected almost everything that is known about the Khazars.
