In this edition, all works from the presented collections are given in classical translations carried out in the 90s of the 19th century. A.V. and P.G. Hansen. Before Hansen's, all translations from Andersen into Russian, with rare exceptions, were made from German or French. Translations by A.V. and P.G. Hansen, over which A.V. Hansen constantly worked, improving them, which served as the basis for all further publications of fairy tales in Russian. Here the translations are reproduced mainly from the Russian four-volume work by Andersen from the 90s of the 19th century. Great-granddaughter A.V. and P.G. Ganzen - I.P. Streblova - re-edited the fairy tales, checked them with the originals (according to the most authoritative in terms of textuality, the five-volume edition of 1963).
