Edward Sylvester Ellis (1840–1916) was an American writer. Author of Westerns, science fiction novels, and history books. The novels “Pontiac the Chief of the Ottawas” and “Camp in the Mountains” describe events dating back to the second half of the eighteenth century, when the British established themselves in the lands of the American Indians. The novel “Rubber Seekers” tells the story of the adventure of two friends who made an unusually interesting water trip to Brazil. The novel “Seth Jones, or Prisoners of the Frontier” was written under the influence of Fenimore Cooper’s pentalogy about Leatherstocking.
