The “Apparitions” of Aratus of Soli (c. 315-240 BC) is the most important example of “scientific” poetry of the Hellenistic era. In European literature, Aratus was the first who, poetically, purposefully and, without being a scientist, quite fully systematized the astronomical and meteorological observations of his time. The didactic features of the poem, which non-trivially reflected the scientific, poetic and philosophical subtexts of the tradition preceding Aratus and the predilections of his contemporary era, had a significant impact on the literary and philosophical thought of antiquity and modern times. The translation of Arata's poem into Russian was carried out in compliance with the metrical features of the original, provided with an exegetical commentary and an introductory article. The publication is intended for everyone who is interested in ancient literature and culture. CONTENTS: K. A. Bogdanov.
