The proposed first complete edition of the diaries of Nicholas II allows us to reconstruct the space of contacts of the last Russian emperor in all its diversity. In daily entries, the author names more than a thousand people who lived both in the Russian Empire and abroad, including his relatives, figures from his inner circle, courtiers, statesmen, representatives of the world of culture and science, and even just random inhabitants or ordinary people, by coincidence of circumstances attracted the sovereign's attention. The publication of diaries allows you to begin painstaking work, not always with a guarantee of success, to clarify many of them, as well as to identify a much wider circle of people not named by Nicholas II, about whom he writes on the pages of his diaries
