How often, listening to self-confident statements from television screens, from the lips of politicians or pompous commentators, we think: “What nonsense!” We sense a catch, but we can’t explain what it is. Of course, if the speech consists of complete lies, there is nothing to analyze here. But there is some nonsense that sounds very plausible. Philosophers from Harvard University Tom Cathcart and Dan Klein, who are also comedians, cheerfully and entertainingly expose demagogic techniques and political kitchens, either recalling half-forgotten jokes or telling the latest incidents of public life. And at the same time, they unobtrusively introduce us to all types of logical errors, to Aristotelian logic and other concepts of the giants of the mind from Descartes to Sam Harris.
