With the help of letters, the hero is able to convince, interest, console, seduce - in a word, magically transform someone else's will. Friends advise turning this gift into a commercial service. The hero places an ad in the newspaper, and one day there is a phone call that changes the hero’s life beyond recognition. The novel describes the work of a unique event agency, where unforgettable events are invented and arranged for wealthy clients: dates, reconciliations, romantic breakups. The hero is offered fabulous terms for cooperation, but first he must complete a test task - write a letter to a stranger on someone else's behalf. The game of correspondence turns out to be as successful as it is fatal.
