In a magical apartment on Maroseyka they prepare glue for broken hearts, telegrams similar to the patterns of bark beetles fly from the countryside, gods who speak bird-like roam in the Atlas Mountains. “The Spinning Top” is a puzzle of love scattering across countries and dreams, a bestiary of characters, a collection of intrigues. Everything here is genuine: people, stories, passions. Here, everything is not what it seems: a Japanese garden in the forests near Moscow, a man in the power of a woman in love, the Italian estate Empatiko, where money is extracted directly from the subconscious. The top is spinning, sometimes the motley one from the nursery, sometimes the gray one from the lullaby. This is a modern game where winning, as well as losing, is a miracle and beauty.
