In the mid-60s, the authors of “The Thaw” and “New Wave” changed their attitude towards science fiction. If earlier it was perceived mostly as entertainment for curious teenagers, now designers of fictional worlds have not hesitated to stand on a par with Great Literature, raising controversial, sometimes inconvenient for society, topics. Social fiction has entered the golden fund not only of SF, but of the entire world culture. We do not claim a place in this series; the purpose of the collection is to make the reader think, doubt and argue. For several years now, the Literary Projects community has been publishing collections of social dystopias with a narrow theme. But now we have deliberately decided to abandon any ideological restrictions. Only one condition unites all the texts in this collection: the future problems of human society. Science fiction often talks about the negative, predicting terrible cataclysms and the “end of history” in the future. But what if the apocalypse comes unnoticed? When cyborgs and androids replace people, how painful will it be to displace homo sapiens into the category of subhumans? How to create an ideal customer in a society of endless consumption? What if the gadgets rightly blamed for robbing people of space become the key to its return? And will there still be a place for a person in a society in which the rate of renewal of professions is no longer calculated in decades, but in years?
