The work of Grigory Yakovlevich Shirman (1898–1956), who very clearly declared himself in the mid-1920s, remained not understood and not accepted by his contemporaries. A talented poet, a master of the sonnet, Shirman already dropped out of literature for almost 60 years at the end of the 1920s. In this edition, Shirman’s poetry collections are completely reissued; for the first time, the collection “Apocrypha”, announced but never published during the author’s lifetime, is published, as well as selected poems of the 1940s–1950s.
