In his book, the author explores the positive and negative aspects of the so-called helping professions, which in the West traditionally include the profession of medicine, psychotherapist, psychiatrist, teacher, social worker and clergy. The temptation to power over specific people turns out to be as characteristic a feature as the desire to help. Only the manifestation of eros outside the profession allows one to avoid the danger of the manifestation of power in professional activity. These and other theses allow us to take a fresh look at the problems of the “healer and patient” archetype, which plays a decisive role in helping professions.
