The young novelist David Fonkinos is rapidly gaining world fame. The winner of several prestigious awards, he is one of the five most read writers in France. His books have been translated into one and a half dozen languages, and a film was made based on the novel “Tenderness” with Audrey Tautou in the title role. This unusual biography of John Lennon is also, in fact, a novel written in the first person in the form of a monologue. Lennon tells his life during psychoanalysis sessions, trying to comprehend the logic of his actions, to understand the reasons for his tossing and constantly tormenting internal pain. In this imaginary confession, he talks about childhood, about his parents who left him, about music, about the creation and collapse of the Beatles, about dizzying fame and about his love for Yoko Ono. The sessions take place from 1975 to 1980 and end on the eve of Lennon's tragic death.
