This book is about beautiful France, where a foreigner feels at home. This country is very different: Brittany cannot be confused with the outskirts of Nice, Clermont-Ferrand is very different from Toulouse, and the Loire Valley, as is commonly believed, is similar exclusively to itself. Traveling around France, everyone creates its own image in order to become one of the local foreigners. Russian European and avid traveler Nikolai Karamzin wrote: “After Russia, there is no land more pleasant for me than France, where a foreigner often forgets that he is not among his own.” Everything is just like that.
