The first volume of the series “Byzantine Writings on Islam” is a review of anti-Muslim apologetic literature of the 7th-15th centuries. The book presents polemical works by such Orthodox authors as St. John of Damascus, Theodore Abu Kurra, St. Theophan the Confessor, George Amartol, St. George Decapolis, Bartholomew of Edessa, St. Nicholas the Mystic, St. Samon of Gaz, Evfimy Zigavin and St. Simeon of Thessaloniki. Many works are published in Russian for the first time.
