Oh. E. Mandelstam (1891–1938) is a great Russian poet. His poems were first published when he was only nineteen years old, and at forty-seven he died in a transit camp on the road to Kolyma. After twenty years of official oblivion, a gradual return of Mandelstam's poetry to readers began. This edition includes the poet’s original poems and prose, excluding children’s and humorous ones, as well as unfinished or incompletely preserved passages. The book includes extensive notes by M. L. Gasparov, as well as an introductory article by O. A. Lekmanov. The book was published to mark the 125th anniversary of O. E. Mandelstam.
