“Lewis Carroll wrote all his life. As a child, when his name was Charles Dodgson, he, as the eldest in a large family, was accustomed to entertaining his sisters and brothers with games that he himself invented, funny drawings and rhymes. In his younger years, he composed mostly light and parodic poems in the spirit of the famous Punch magazine. Carroll collected the best of these poems in the collection “Phantasmagoria and Other Poems” (1869), subsequently republished in expanded form under the eccentric title “Folding? And okay" (Rhyme? And Reason?)..."
