This book can rightfully be called an introduction to the theory of modern Western society (its development included the works “Global Humanitarian”, “On the Path to a Super-Society”, “Logical Sociology”). The study is an application of the logic and methodology of social science developed by the author of the book to the study of the phenomenon that he characterizes as Westernism. With this term A.A. Zinoviev (1922–2006) does not mean a set of certain countries that are usually called Western, but the social system that developed in them in the second half of the twentieth century. The work provides both a “photograph” of Westernism (its description in detail, details, data at the empirical level) and its “X-ray image” (identification of the internal structure, mechanisms of functioning, laws of development). The author shows that since real communism, personified by the Soviet Union, has left the historical arena, the transformation of other countries initiated by the West into its likeness in social and political system, economy, mentality, and culture has a chance to be realized on a global scale. This volume includes the books “ West (The Phenomenon of Westernism)" (1993) and "The Great Evolutionary Turning Point" (1999). The publication is addressed to a wide range of readers.
