The Three Hundred Years' War set back the development of civilizations by a thousand years, dividing the Galaxy in half. Empires have sunk into the past, leaving behind impregnable systems and sectors. Huge cemeteries of ships with active defense systems did not allow reviving civilizations to find a way to each other.
