The historical story “Princess Ostrozhskaya” is the first writing experience of the novelist Vs. Solovyov. In 1596, the Union of Brest was concluded, after which the life of adherents of Orthodoxy in those parts of Ukraine and Belarus that were within the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth became significantly more complicated. The pure feeling of Princess Ostrozhskaya and Prince Sangushka is not enough for them to unite, because the fight for the soul of the girl is being waged by Catholics who have received power. The only one who can help the young people is Konstantin Ostrozhsky, the princess’s uncle and the patron of the Orthodox faith in those lands.
