XVIII century. A foreigner from Courland, regent Ernst Johann Biron, sits on the Russian throne. A former groom, favorite of Empress Anna Ioannovna, about whom one Austrian ambassador once said: “Biron speaks to horses like a man, and to people like a horse.” Every day the Courland temporary worker becomes more and more ferocious, lackeys and spies inform him of conspiracies and discontent. Biron has a big deal in his hands, a huge empire, and here are some dissatisfied soldiers, some officers, some people that he doesn’t know and doesn’t want to know. You have to rely on someone, but there is no one to rely on.
