Essay on “The History of Atlantis” by William Scott-Elliot, an amateur anthropologist and member of the Theosophical Society founded by H.P. Blavatsky, was published in 1896 (translated into Russian in 1910) and became the first popular source of systematized facts, hypotheses and occult ideas on the geography of ancient continents, ethnology and history of the races and peoples who inhabited the Earth hundreds of thousands of years before us.B The electronic version of the book includes an Appendix with four maps of the world from the times of Atlantis. The translation has been verified and corrected in some places according to the second edition (“The Story of Atlantis” by William Scott-Elliot, Theosophical Publishing House, London, 1909).
