This edition includes two novels by the Swedish writer, professor at the University of California Sven Delblanc (1931–1992), winner of a dozen international literary awards. The novels of S. Delblanc are parables of our time, in which fantasy (or mysticism) is associated with our reality. The essence of the first novel, “Gunnar Emmanuel,” is to escape from the monotonous current reality. First, the hero's beloved woman disappears after entering the doors of an old church. (The Church as a mysterious connection of times.) And then the hero himself, yearning for his beloved, begins his shuttle disappearances - back and forth into the past and back. In these departures and arrivals there is a plot. The second novel, “The Pastor's Frock Coat,” without any preamble or existential explanations, takes the reader to the magnificent past - during the wars of Germany with Prussia. The unlucky and drunken pastor Hermann Anderz and his seemingly servant Long Hans appear before the reader, and the parallel “double” journey through the life of the master and his servant is a well-known and developed plot.
