On the wave of love for Japanese culture, Russian poets began to compose haiku. They are written on napkins while sitting in numerous sushi terraces and yakitorias, written at home, watching a familiar and suddenly (!) unusual landscape from the window, and then published in poetry anthologies and on literary Internet portals. “Let the Japanese now suffer, translating our tercets into the language of the great Basho,” say their authors. “Everyone’s life today flies so fast that you don’t have time to look back,” says Novosibirsk prose writer Viorel Lomov, who has compiled a small selection of “Russian tercets.” – This is probably where my love for hockey comes from. You don't need to read them for a long time. You don't need to read into them. They must be instantly understood with the heart. It is what reacts - here it is, the truth! Or - empty, cold. In any case, they contain something that catches the eye of a prisoner or a mortally tired person, which we all are today - an accurate, true and individual phenomenon, which is sometimes more general and monumental.
