The book “Miterikon” includes sayings of holy women-ascetics of the 4th–5th centuries (St. Theodora, Synklitikia, Sarah, Melania, Matrona, etc.), collected by the great Christian ascetic Abba Isaiah, as well as the messages and spiritual instructions of Abba Isaiah to the all-honorable nun Theodora. And although the translator of the book - St. Theophan, the Recluse of Vyshensky - recommended the "Miterikon" for "our reverent nuns, for whom we do not have directly assigned books," Abba Isaiah's reflections on silence and prayer, chastity and humility, patience and gentleness, abstinence and keeping the tongue pure, about the nature of thoughts, about fasting and crying - this and much more will serve any Christian, both a beginner and one who has completely dedicated himself to God, for salvation, edification of the soul and strengthening of the mind. The book is published in modern spelling, has an afterword and notes to the text. Published according to the edition: Miterikon, a collection of instructions from Abba Isaiah to the honorable nun Theodora. Per. from Greek Bishop Feofan. Second edition, expanded. – Moscow, 1898.
