However, over the course of a week and a half of continuous fighting, the German troops battered the Russians quite badly, almost disrupting their attack on Vienna. And, of course, the success or failure of operations depended not only on the wisdom of the command, but primarily on the actions of soldiers and officers on the front line, face to face with the enemy, who could sometimes unexpectedly become a comrade in misfortune...
