Alchemy. As a rule, a modern person, having heard this word, imagines medieval dreamers trying to find gold and the stone of immortality in their laboratories. However, the truth is that alchemy is the forerunner of depth psychology. It was in the depths of alchemical treatises that the first, still quite naive knowledge about the laws by which our unconscious lives, was formed. Carl Jung was the first to turn his attention to Alchemy, devoting the entire second half of his life to its study.
