The brilliant novelist David Foncinos is one of the five most widely read writers in France. Winner of the François Mauriac, Roger Nimier, and Jean Giono prizes, he received two more prestigious literary awards in 2014 - the Renaudo Prize and the Goncourt Lyceum Prize. It is translated and published in thirty-five countries. A film was made based on the book “Tenderness” with Audrey Tautou in the title role. “In Case of Happiness,” like almost all of Fonkinos’ novels, is a subtle, masterfully written love story. Claire and Jean-Jacques have been married for eight years. Habit has dulled emotions, and both have accumulated complaints against each other. And both - in different ways - set out in search of happiness. The author's ironic fantasy puts them in unpredictable situations, behind which the question hovers: are modern Adam and Eve created for eternal love.
