This story happened in those ancient times when people and gods could not yet live without each other. The daughter of the Slavic leader Rodovit, seven-year-old Yagda, fell in love with a little captive from the steppes, nicknamed Kashchei. Their childhood and then adolescent love did not please either people or their gods. Therefore, the lovers face difficult trials and incredible adventures. Only the god of seven swords Simargl, only the red animal Fefila, carved from a spark, help Kashchei and Yagda... But these helpers are unable to protect recklessly loving children either from rash steps or from the heavy gift of immortality. A novel by the famous writer Marina Vishnevetskaya, winner of the Apollo Prize Grigorieva (2002).
