The chapters of this surprising novel are arranged not entirely chronologically, but as they were constructed by the narrator’s whimsical memory. And perhaps that is why the plot of a constant “duel” - the endless return of an aging man to a young woman (the plot of a satyr and a nymph) - so easily permeates the entire novel from beginning to end. He called “Fright”, critic Mark Amusin. Critic Viktor Toporov saw a generalized image of an aged sixties in the “tenacious old man” - and in turn predicted him the vitality of a modern literary hero. In the large, voluminous chapter “The White House without Politics” the reader will find something unique, in colors and in detail, the depiction of the historical shelling of the White House in 1993, alas, was never continued, not picked up anywhere else in modern stories and novels. As a blogger exclaimed on the Internet: “Read! Read “Fright”!.. You won’t regret it!”

Окремо варто відзначити детальність опису історичних подій, які додають роману глибини і контексту. Це не просто книга, а справжня літературна подорож, яка залишає слід у серці. Рекомендую всім, хто цінує глибокі та емоційні твори!
