This edition of “The Newest History of the Jewish People” is in the Russian original in a completely new form. This latest cycle of the “World History of the Jewish People” has long been separated into a separate monograph with a more detailed presentation of events than in previous cycles. In 1923, the Russian original and two translations (German and Hebrew) of “Modern History” were published in Berlin in three volumes, of which the last volume included the era of 1881-1914. The first volume contains information about the era of the first emancipation (1789-1815). The author details the legal restrictions placed on Jews in Europe before 1789. The arguments of the anti-Jewish party in the French revolutionary national assembly, Napoleon's “infamous decree,” are discussed.
