Together with the Cosa Nostra and the Chinese triads, the Japanese mafia - the Yakuza - is one of the largest and most powerful criminal groups in the world, and like the country in which it operates. At the same time, it is shrouded in mystery. Hidden behind many layers of semi-legal businesses, this organization is an integral part of Japanese reality. It is this reality that Yakuza members consider a “dirty pond” and themselves “lotus flowers” in it. The Yakuza operates many business networks in various fields - from construction to the porn industry. Surprising as it may seem, the yakuza came to the aid of their country in difficult situations many times. Moreover, most often the yakuza reacted to what was happening faster than the government. In our book we will talk about the history, structure and activities of this mysterious organization. At the center of the story is a story about the fate of a simple Japanese policeman who is forced to fight a huge octopus that has penetrated into all spheres of Japanese life. He goes through struggle, loss of loved ones, disappointment and betrayal, but remains a decent and courageous person. There is also a line of Russian mafia structures in the novel that are trying to establish their business and do business with the yakuza.
