In many ways, the Douglas Invader is truly great. A powerful, aerodynamically clean airplane looks very aesthetically pleasing. His combat career, even just in the US Air Force, is truly unique. It began at the end of World War II and ended in Vietnam. The plane has been involved in a number of minor armed conflicts. Invader aircraft are in service in many countries around the world; the last B-26s were withdrawn from service in the 80s. The Invaders also flew a lot in civilian life, which was greatly facilitated by numerous modifications of this aircraft.
