“Batrachomyomachy” (from other Greek batrachos [frog], mus [mouse], mache [struggle]) is a poem parodying the motifs of the Homeric epic. At various times it was attributed to Homer himself, as well as to Pigret of Halicarnassus and an unknown author of Hellenistic times. The most famous translations belong to V. A. Zhukovsky (1831) and M. S. Altman (1936).
