Gaston Leroux, a famous author of adventure novels, worked in Russia in 1905 as a correspondent for a French newspaper. He was lucky enough to witness the revolutionary events of 1905-1906, to which he devoted numerous journalistic notes and articles, written by him in a benevolent spirit and with sincere sympathy for Russia and its people. After the writer’s death in 1927, his widow published a book containing Leroux’s articles on the first Russian revolution. The translation of this book is offered to the attention of the modern reader.
