They are here. They are close. Sometimes at arm's length. They're watching us. They are always at the start. Their hunger is insatiable. And only the fragile Barrier of Balance between the almost merged parallels holds back the hordes of otherworldly creatures. Alas, sometimes breakthroughs happen, and then the last barrier between people and monsters becomes teams of clairvoyants. Freshman Sergei Kapustin, accepted as a trainee into one of these teams, fell into the trap of an insidious chaosist, who was tasked with pushing him towards Chaos. Sergei miraculously manages to escape from captivity, but what he takes for salvation turns out to be only the first step on a long thorny path of trials prepared for him. And God only knows whether the young trainee will have enough willpower and fortitude to survive among monsters, preserve himself and remain a decent person.
