In the creative heritage of the famous English writer George Orwell there are four documentary books that can rightfully be called autobiographical. All of them - "Gloriously, gloriously we frolicked" (1947), "Pounds of Dashing in Paris and London" (1931), "The Road to Wigan Pier" (1936) and "In Memory of Catalonia" (1939) .) are not just written in the “ultimate frankness” characteristic of the author, not just built on a story about himself, his emotions, actions and ideas, but are also a chronological reflection of the life of the legendary writer from childhood to adulthood. In fact, this is a book about the life of a writer, politician, philosopher, revolutionary of the 20th century, whose works have been in third place in the ranking of “world bestsellers” for many decades after the Bible and the works of Marx. A human and political biography, fearlessly written by himself - a person who once said: “To be honest and stay alive is almost impossible...” Only the second of these books was published in Russia. The collection was not published in this composition even in England.
