Until now, the version of the death of Emperor Alexander II, compiled by the Romanovs immediately after the event of March 1, 1881, is considered official. The murder formula, still defined as a terrorist act by the revolutionary party "People's Will", became undisputed from the very beginning and did not attract close interest from historians. Having held a formal trial of the perpetrators of the murder, Alexander III hastened to consign the scandalous removal of the current emperor to history. The author of the book conducted his own investigation and convincingly answered the questions of who from the crowned family stood behind the murderers and was guilty of the death of the reformer tsar and what trace stretches from the tragic death of Alexander II to the revolution of 1917.
