Of the creatures visible to the naked eye, insects are the most abundant in the world. There are either 350 or 600 thousand species of beetles alone. All of us, without noticing it ourselves, use various “insects” of comparison in our speech. Here I am - in addition to texts where insects are directly mentioned, I discovered that I have a lot of “insect” metaphors. This is how the idea of a thematic selection from the first 25 of my “Belogorsk cycles” (2010 – 2017) was born. The cover design was based on Natalia Dudina's graphic work "From the Mythology of Insects". This is where I borrowed the title of the book. Recommended to all lovers of entomology and wildlife in general!
