The author originally wanted to call “The Loneliness of the Shaman”: “Larva”. This is by no means a dirty word; it denotes a mythological creature who, according to legend, “sticks” to a person and lives at his expense as a parasite. “The Loneliness of the Shaman” is an ethnographic adventure novel. But it can be called an urban novel, a novel about love, and a mystical thriller. All this is in the work. It is written on a documentary basis: information about his “shamanic” travels, life in symbiosis with Aomi (traditionally Aomi is considered a patron spirit) and much more was provided to the author by a 35-year-old resident of Khabarovsk. The author also independently studied the culture, customs and ideas about the world of the Nani people, living on the banks of the great Far Eastern Amur River (the Nanai people call themselves that way). The novel has a sequel, “Journey Behind Your Own Shadow, or The Golden Woman.” This is, so to speak, an “ethnographic-mystical thriller.”
