Sylvia Plath (1932–1963) is the largest American poetess of the second half of the 20th century, whose name is associated with a “confessional”, sharply biographical style of writing, and her image and fate have become one of the “legends” of modern Western culture. The complete corpus of Plath's poems (translated by V. Betaki) is accompanied by detailed comments: biographical, purely personal (by the poet Ted Hughes, S. Plath's husband) and clarifying cultural realities unfamiliar to the Russian reader (E. Kassel). For the first time in the "Additions" section, the poetess's prose is published - three essays.
