Reprint reissue of a set of postcards from 1959 with drawings by Leonid Vladimirovsky based on the fairy tale “The Adventures of Chiodino”. Remember the story of how poor organ grinder Carlo cut out a wooden boy from a log and named him Pinocchio? Probably, the old scientist Pilucca also read a book about Pinocchio. And when he felt sad and lonely, he decided, like dad Carlo, to make himself a son, but not a wooden one, but an iron one. This is how the cheerful iron boy Kyodino was born. During his visit to the USSR, the writer Marcello Argilli inscribed to Leonid Vladimirsky their joint book “The Adventures of Chiodino the Cog”: “I must note that in the USSR I met the best execution of the publication from an illustrative point of view. The artist Vladimirsky’s illustrations for the book “The Adventures of Chiodino” are the most poetic and expressive of all that I have met so far." Source:
