The second volume of the Shahnameh translation is a continuation of the first volume, published in 1957. During the preparation of the second volume, the team suffered heavy losses: on the day the first volume was published, the editor of the translation, Abulqasim Lahuti, who worked a lot on the second volume, died. His work was continued by the new editor of the translation, A. Azer. Shortly after the publication of the first volume, the executive editor of the publication, corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Professor E.E. Bertels, also died. The proposed second volume contains: a poetic translation of the Shahnameh from the tale of Rostem and Sohrab to the tale of Rostem and Khakan Chin, made Ts.B. Banu-Lahuti, edited by A.
