The previous volume of the complete translation of the Shahnameh was published in 1960. During the intervening time, a heavy loss was suffered: the commentator on the translation and the executive editor of the second volume, A.A. Starikov, died. The work on the third volume was carried out by the team with the participation of the executive editor, Professor A.N. Boldyrev. The proposed third volume contains: a poetic translation of the “Shahname” from the legend of the battle of Rostem with the Khakan of Chin to the reign of Lohrasp, performed by Ts.B. Banu-Lahuti, edited by A .Azera; comments by A. Azer and Ts. B. Banu-Lahuti; annotated geographical, name and subject indexes.
