The book presents the most authoritative texts on the code of honor of the samurai or Bushido (“Way of the Warrior”). The set of rules and regulations that originated in ancient Japan, which regulated the behavior and daily life of samurai, partly remains relevant to this day. After all, such concepts as honor, loyalty, dignity, and duty never become obsolete. The works of the great samurai Yuzan Daidoji and the Zen monk Takuan Soho are supplemented by the “Legends of Takuan,” allowing the reader to comprehend the wisdom of previous centuries.
