The book “Alexander III - Peacemaker (1881–1894)” continues the series “Russia - the path through the centuries.” It tells about the events that took place in the Russian Empire during the reign of Alexander III. The political course of the new emperor was strictly conservative. Alexander III adhered to the ideas of the inviolability of autocracy, strengthened class boundaries, and tried to strengthen control over society. This time went down in history as the era of counter-reforms. At the same time, the international position of the Russian Empire under this emperor has noticeably strengthened, and this despite the fact that Russia has not waged a single war. The authors of the feature articles are scientists from the Institute of General History of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The book also contains excerpts from the memoirs of S. D. Sheremetev, Nicholas II, F. G. Turner and others.
