The Tusculan Discourses is a philosophical work on ethics by the ancient Roman orator and philosopher Marcus Tullius Cicero. The treatise is dedicated to Marcus Brutus and includes five books written in the form of imaginary dialogues between teacher and student. Thanks to his oratorical gift, Marcus Tullius Cicero, who came from a simple family, became a famous philosopher, politician and played a key role in the political life of Rome.
