In the first decade after World War II, the eternal conflict between fathers and sons intensified. The younger generation did not want to put up with outdated social prejudices. It tried to stand out in everything, including music. Thus was born rock and roll, an extremely democratic dance style accessible to everyone, in which the music of white working-class youth was combined with the rhythms and melodies of black music. The leader of this musical trend was the young singer Elvis Presley (1935-1977), who became a kind of symbol of the generation of the 60s. He was born into a poor family and soared to the top of the musical Olympus, realizing the “American dream”. He sang what he wanted and how he wanted. He could not be confused with anyone, and his fans simply called him by his name - “Elvis”. After Presley's death and the end of the rock and roll era, it seemed that his name and former glory would become just history. But things turned out differently. Elvis Presley's songs continue to be listened to in all corners of the globe. His work is discovered by every generation of music lovers. And even now, three decades after Presley's death, the world continues to dance to his music. It is debatable whether Elvis personally influenced the course of history, but there is no doubt that rock and roll changed the world.
